Doris (Beck) Redman (1932 - 2017)


Doris Redman, 85, of Vandalia, formerly of Herrick, died on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at her residence, with her family by her side.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Wallace-Carroll Funeral Home in Herrick, with Richard Corwin officiating. Burial was in Myers Cemetery in Herrick Township, Shelby County. Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Northside Christian Church Youth in Vandalia. Mrs. Redman was born on Saturday, Aug. 20, 1932, in Bowling Green Township in Fayette County, the daughter of Ruby Jewel and Flossie Violet (Wasson) Beck. She married James ""Junior"" Redman on July 26, 1950, in Vandalia; he died on May 11, 2008.
She was raised in Herrick and graduated from Herrick High School with the class of 1950. She worked at Crane Packing in Vandalia for 29 years, retiring in 1994, and she was a lifelong member of Herrick Christian Church.
Survivors include sons, Roger Redman and spouse Melinda of Maroa, and Larry Redman of Shelbyville; daughters, Pamela Hall and spouse Bonnie Ross of Ramsey; Lila Bordelon and spouse Mitchell of Moreauville, La., and Rebecca ""Becky"" Redman of Vandalia; grandson, Keith Redman and spouse Chelsea of Perry, Okla.; granddaughters, Holly Smith and spouse Les of Vandalia, and Danielle Mayeaux and spouse Norbett of Livingston, La.; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Gerald Beck and spouse Betty of Prairieville, La.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
