Freda M. Willms, 88, of St. Elmo, died at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Gieseking Funeral Home in Altamont, with Harry Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo. Mrs. Willms was born on April 10, 1924, in Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Clifford E. and Emma Farrel Carnes Masters. She married Arthur Neil Willms on June 5, 1949; he died on Dec. 11, 1971.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. Elmo and Vit-Em-In Sunday school class. She was a member of Fayette County Home Extension, and had been a 4-H leader and volunteer for blood drives. She was a homemaker and was retired from K-Mart in Effingham.
She is survived by a son, Lyndon Willms and his wife Rita of Murphysboro; daughters, Nancy and her husband Les Rabe of Champaign, Norma and her husband Jeff Baars of Charlestown, Mass., and Sarah and her husband Scott Morris of Pesotum; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Lawrence E. and Roy Masters; and two grandchildren.
