Gail Anne Cocagne, 61, of Vandalia, passed away at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at her home.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1, at Northside Christian Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Carl Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Mother of Dolors Catholic Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on July 1. Memorials: Northside Christian Church in Vandalia. Mrs. Cocagne was born on Sept. 29, 1954, in Vandalia, the daughter of N.E. ""Pat"" and Norma Wright. She married John David Cocagne on Feb. 2, 1974; he preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2011.
Gail worked as a cook at Vandalia Community High School, and was a member of Northside Christian Church.
She is survived by sons, Patrick Cocagne and his wife Toni of Auburn, Nicholas Cocagne of Vandalia, and Timothy Cocagne and his husband Will Lonnemann of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters, Michelle Daniels of Columbia, Ill., and Jennifer and her husband Tapan Virvani of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Doug Wright and his wife Debbie of Vandalia; grandchildren, Luke, Anne, Jaidyn, Marcus, Aubrey, Zoe, Jett, Alex, Ashley and Alexis; brothers-in-law, Charles Cocagne and his wife Dixie of Ann Arbor, Mich., Bill Cocagne and his wife Susan of Chicago, and Phil Cocagne and his wife Deb of Champaign; sisters-in-law, Sara and her husband Bill Schnell of St. Louis, Mo., Mary Ann Adkins of Kearney, Mo., Becky and her husband Walter ""Happy"" Holliday of Daphne, Ala., and Carol and her husband Paul Herzberger of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and 19 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Christopher Daniels; brother, David Wright; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Adkins and Douglas Cocagne.
