Mariece Ann "Sparky" Pryor, 67, of Centralia, finished the good race and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by those she loved.
A celebration to honor her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Larry Morris officiating. With respect to her wishes, Mariece's family requests that no one wear black to the Celebration of Life, and that guests wear blue and purple. The butterflies and lilies that you will see represent a celebration of her life and newness in heaven. Burial will be in Farmers Cemetery in rural Shobonier. Mariece Ann (Eulberg) Pryor was born on March 30, 1950, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Maxine (Summers) Galladora. She married Robert Pryor on July 26, 1969, at Haley Chapel in rural Vandalia, and together they raised three children.
She worked as a certified nurse's assistant for several years and worked at Big O's BBQ in Centralia. She was a member of New Destiny Church of God in Centralia and was an ordained evangelist; she loved traveling and sharing the gospel, encouraging people through her faith. She was a true inspiration to everyone she met, never knowing a stranger. Her faith was unshakeable in her battle against cancer. Mariece loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a gifted writer and shared her faith through her poems – it brought joy, strength and laughter to many people, a true testimony of Christ's love.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family meant everything to her. She will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace, beautiful Warrior.
She is survived by her husband; son, Kendall Pryor and special friend Erica Taylor of Centralia; daughters, Montell and her husband Dustin Fields of Centralia, and Sarey and her husband Randall Giller of Odin; brothers, Michael Eulberg and his wife Bobbie of Vandalia, and Johnny Eulberg of Brownstown; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt, Shirley Roe.
