Noah "Frank" Emerick, 81, of Vandalia, passed away on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Crown Point Church in rural Vandalia, with Pastors Pete and Greg LeDuc officiating. Burial with military rites will be in McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Miller Funeral Home and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church. Mr. Emerick was born on Aug. 15, 1933, in Vandalia, the son of Ira and Velva F. Tharp Emerick. He married Betty J. Carman on Oct. 6, 1956, in Truo, Iowa.
He retired from Leo Brown Lumber and was a former employee of Johnson, Stephens and Shinkle Shoe Co., both of Vandalia. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Crown Point Church.
He is survived by his wife; son, Larry Emerick of Vandalia; daughter, Pam and her husband Pete LeDuc of Vandalia; daughter-in-law, Connie Emerick of Hillsboro; sister, Nell Gelsinger of Pana; grandchildren, Greg and his wife Candi, Amie, Noah, Gabe and Chris; and great-grandchildren, Preston, Ryker, Jonah and Adam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry Emerick; a sister; and four brothers.
