Ricky Lynn Wyant (1956 - 2016)

Ricky Lynn Wyant, 59, of Mulberry Grove, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2016, following a motorcycle accident one mile north of Ill. Route 185 on Burg Road, on the way to Fillmore.
In keeping with Ricky's wishes, no formal visitation or services will be held. Memorials: The family. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wyant was born on Nov. 2, 1956, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, the son of Delbert Lane and Beverly Irene Ricke Wyant. Ricky and Marie Esther Schneider were united in marriage on June 28, 1975, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville; they have enjoyed more than 41 years together.
Ricky was raised on farms near Shobonier and then on the farm near Fillmore. He attended country schools, including Browning and Peak schools. He then graduated from Vandalia Community High School in 1974. Early in life, he worked for VanTran Electric, Greenville Spring Co. and Old Capitol Monument in Vandalia. He then farmed for a time, owned and operated Wyant Water Service and County Line Liquor Store, and last worked for Dale Williams Trucking in Fillmore.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Shane Richard Wyant, and Dustin Lane Wyant and his wife Shalet, both of Fillmore; nephews that Ricky and Marie raised, Conway McElroy and Toby McElroy; and nieces, Jala Smith and Amber Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Suzanne Elizabeth McElroy; and a brother, Gary Lane Wyant.
