Edward F. Becht, 80, Louisville, entered Eternal Life on Sunday, April 1, 2018.
He was born in Louisville to the late John Becht and Mary Quickert. He and wife, Nancy raised their family in Lebanon, where he had many friends and a strong community of faith at St. Augustine Church. He was an active member and volunteer at St. Augustine Church and was also a member of both the Lion's and Rotary Clubs. He was an early member of the Lebanon Country Club and his time spent there brought him much happiness throughout the years. Ed enjoyed watching sports and spending quality time with his family. Many people enjoyed his company because of his quick wit and caring personality.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Nancy Kremer Becht; his son, Kenneth; his sister, Lorraine; and his brothers, Kenny, Billy, Norby, and Donnie.
Survivors include: his children, Kim Spalding (Jim Pat); Keith Becht; Kelly Fain (Rodney); Kristie Thieman (Craig); his grandchildren, Patrick (Laura), Becca, Trevor, Harrison, Garrett, Laura, and Natalie; a great-grandchild, Lillian; his brother, Richie Becht (Janie); and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, from 2-8 p.m. at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at St. Augustine Church, 235 S. Spalding Avenue, Lebanon, with burial in the church cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Nancy Kremer Becht Scholarship Fund at St. Augustine School.
