Mary Gwendolyn "Gwen" Shockency Jiggetts, 61, Lexington, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1956 in Lebanon. Gwen was a retired special education teacher.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Louis Theodore "Ted" Shockency; and brother, Jeffery Alan Shockency.
Survivors include: mother, Mary Jane Shockency of Lebanon; daughter, Timberlin E'leese Jiggetts of Jacksonville, Florida; three brothers, Robert Daryl (Reva) Shockency of Greensburg, Kenny Lee Shockency of Lexington, and Kevin Anthony Shockency of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Debra Ann (John) Zielinski of Akron, Ohio, Nancy Lynn Shockency of Lebanon, and LuAnn (Tim) Edwards of Buffalo, New York; and granddaughter, Avah Elizabeth Burns of Jacksonville. 
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Rhodes officiated.
Gwen had a love for education. In honor of this, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions made to a college fund set up for Gwen's granddaughter, Avah Elizabeth Burns.
Pallbearers were Robert Shockency, Kenny Shockency, Kevin Shockency, Tyler Shockency, Donnie Shockency, John Zielinski, Marcus Zielinski, James Hamlin, and Tommy Smith.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
