Earl Neel, Sr. February 27, 1926 - November 20, 2008 COLUMBUS, GA— Earl ÒEBÓ Neel, Sr., age 82, resident of Columbus, died on November 20, 2008 at his residence. Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery on Monday, November 24, 2008, 4 p.m. with Chaplain Steve Croft officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 6 - 8 p.m. Mr. Neel, son of the late Joseph Edward Neel and Annie Belle Bullock, was born February 27, 1926 in Columbus. He was a veteran of the Columbus Police Department, where he faithfully served for over 40 years. Mr. Neel was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was also a veteran of the USMC, where he honorably served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie L. Neel; a daughter, Pamela Neel Harris; and a grandson, Jeffrey W. Neel. Mr. Neel is survived by two daughters, Pat Mullins and her husband, Jack, of Dothan, AL and Judy Green and her husband, Kenny, of Columbus; one son, Earl B. Neel, Jr. of Hamilton, GA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
