Columbus, Georgia- Paulla Kaye Collier, age 70, resident of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Friday, February 9, 2018, 3 p.m. with Reverend Paul Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior from 2-3 p.m.
Miss Collier, daughter of the late Clarence Paul Collier and Comilla Virginia Welch Collier, was born January 4, 1948 in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was retired from the State of South Carolina Department of Transportation where she faithfully worked as a Supervisor for over 28 years. Miss Collier was a veteran and served her country honorably while in the U.S. Air Force. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying NASCAR; Oklahoma Sooner Football; South Carolina Gamecock football; and the Dallas Cowboys. Miss Collier also attended Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her brother, Ron (Bonetia) Thomas, Sr. of Columbus; her niece, April (Jarrell) Gilbert of Columbus; three nephews, Ron (Kim) Thomas, Jr. of Columbus, Paul (Pam) Thomas of Columbus, and Thomas (Lyndee) Duncan of Hamilton, Georgia; great nieces, Amanda (Ross) Tucker and Laine Duncan; great nephews, Clay (Olivia) Thomas, Jared Thomas, Shawn Thomas, Jessie Gilbert, and Lewis Duncan; other family members, Kip Pruitt, Ben Freeny, Bill Young, and Bob Young; and long time friends, Gerald and Lisa Padgett; and precious dog, Millie.
