Columbus, GA- Ms. Jacqueline Cody passed away Thursday at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center at the age of 67.
The daughter of the late Berry Cody and Annie Watts Franklin, Ms. Cody was born in Detroit, MI. She was a U.S. Army Veteran of Desert Storm/Desert Shield who attended Medford State University in Frankfurt, Germany, Texas State Community College at Ft. Hood, and received an Associate degree from Chattahoochee Valley Community College. She was employed as a Substitute Teacher at Georgetown Elementary School. A devout member of South Columbus United Methodist Church, she served with the United Methodist Women's Ministry and the Rock Choir. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhoda Ann Hall and brother, Michael Cody.
Survivors include: a daughter, Renee Loving (Charles); five grandchildren, William Wiley, Cody Loving, Courtney Miller, Candance Loving and Cameron Loving; two sisters, Gwendolyn Franklin Dedman and Carolyn Lewis; two brothers-in-law, Bernard Hall and Kyle Dedman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Cody will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 12 noon at South Columbus United Methodist Church where Rev. Reginald Williams is pastor. Mr. Charles Loving will officiate. The interment with Military Honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 2 til 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
