Columbus, GA- Savannah Christine DuBose Thomaston, 89, of Columbus, GA died Monday, January 7, 2019 at Brookside Glen Assisted Living.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907, with Reverend Donnie McCoy officiating. An interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Thomaston was born October 5, 1929, in Covington County, AL daughter of the late Charley Leon DuBose and Mamie Lou Williams DuBose. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and retired after 41 years from Bibb Mill. Mrs. Thomaston was a loving mother and grandmother who loved gardening, baking, and needle working. She was a great cook and always had a beautiful garden.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Preston Thomaston; daughter, Lynette Brossett; granddaughter, Kara Brossett; and a sister, Mildred DuBose.
Survivors include daughters, Cathy Diller (Craig) of Manchester, TN and Karen Nelson (Bill) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Corey Vinson (Bridget) of Orlando, FL, Garrett Brossett of Columbus, GA, Joshua Diller (Gwyn) of Tullahoma, TN, Andrew Diller (Julia) of Pleasant View, TN, Rebekah Diller of Antioch, TN, and Peyton Nelson of Columbus, GA; great grandchildren, Austin Vinson, Adeline Diller, and Levi Diller; brother, Bill DuBose(JoAnne) of Junction City, GA; and numerous other relatives.
