Columbus, GA- Miss Destinee Shante Virgin passed away Saturday at the age of 18.
The beloved daughter of Miss Mechelle Virgin and Larry Johnson and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip (Felisha) Virgin, all of Columbus, Destinee was born in Ft. Benning, GA and was a 2018 graduate of the George Washington Carver High School where she excelled at Track and was a member of the JROTC Program. Destinee was currently attending the 1st Step Program. She had aspiration of becoming a medical assistant.
Destinee will forever be remembered and cherished by her parents and grandparents. Survivors also include: her uncle, Spencer Virgin; an aunt, Tramayne Meier; loving and devoted great aunts and uncles; her god-parents, Robin Mason and Bre Crayton; a host of cousins, and many friends.
The Funeral Service for Destinee will be held Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Progressive Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is Saturday, 12 til 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at progressivefuneralhome.com.

Family although the pain lingers and the tears yet flow when you think of Destinee. Her beautiful smile and the kind words she would speak softly. Be mindful of this, shes at home with God. I know in our human frailty we desire to have her back with us, God Knew her transition would break your hearts family seek God for Understanding He will Help you to carry this seemingly unbearable burden.
