Columbus, GA- Wilda Richards Dudley, 93, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Cindy Garrard and Rev. Dick Reese officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dudley was born January 7, 1925 in Ft. Chadbourne, TX daughter of the late Clara Liston Richards and Rube Richards. She was raised in Arlington, TX and worked as a telephone operator. When she married, they lived in Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana where George worked on oil wells. They then moved and settled in Columbus, GA. Mrs. Dudley was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and attended the Fellowship Class and was in Circle 3.
She was a homemaker and raised 4 children, two of which have preceded her in death, Brad Richards Dudley and George Williams Dudley, Jr. Her husband, George Williams Dudley, Sr. also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Dudley Gordy (George), Anne Dudley Lee (Steve), grandchildren, Chris Gordy (Rachel), Stuart Lee and Cheryl Lee, great grandchildren, Bailey Gordy, Blake Gordy and Sarah Lee.
The family would like to thank her long-time friends and caretakers, Elaine Jordan, Dena Billingslea and Amber Quintero and Columbus Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church 1104 2nd Ave. Columbus, GA 31901 or to Columbus Hospice 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 www.columbushospice.com.
