Warren Humphries Obituary

Published by Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home on May 1, 2004.
Warren Douglass Humphries, 60, of Little Rock, died Friday, April 30, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 7, 1943, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Dossie Humphries. He served his country in the United States Army. He attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and also the University of Hawaii.

Warren retired from Timex Corporation after a thirty-seven year career. He loved to deer hunt, and was a member of the W.A. Hunting Club. He was also an avid horseracing fan, and we know his spirit was watching the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

Warren was known for his wit and dry sense of humor. He traveled the world, and had a love for life.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Humphries of Little Rock; his daughter, Donna Jameson and son-in-law, Chad of Maumelle; two grandchildren, Ashli and Blake of Maumelle; three brothers, Don Humphries and wife, Vera, of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Humprey and wife, Margaret, of Gary, Texas, and Johnnie Humphries of Little Rock; four sisters, Martha Rainey and husband, Leo, of Batesville, Hilda Court and husband, Carl, of Temple, Texas, Lorraine Ahart and husband, Dean, of Austin, Texas, and Cecelia Humphries of Irving, Texas; three stepsons, Randy Childers, Sherman Reynolds, and Sidney Reynolds; two stepddaughters, Cindy Childers and Juanita Reynolds, and many other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, May 3, 2004, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Chapel, 5800 W. 12th, Little Rock, 661-9111.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2004, at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Ahart, Lance Graves, Alan Rainey, Craig Humphries, Randy Childers, Sherman Reynolds, and Sidney Reynolds.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 North University, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207, or to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
