Toby there is absolutely no reason for you to remember me. Our family was just one of many in your mom's shop thru the years. When we moved to town in the 70's we needed someone to cut our four young childrens hair. Your mom was game and took us all six on. Then years later when my mom;s health began to fail she was more than kind with her in the shop. We were all talking this week about this tradegedy and the one thing the children all remembered was her laughter and lovely smile. She was a beautiful, kind and careing individual. I think most persons will always remember her this way. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. The Duane family

Toby,Kelly,Susan and Family,
Kathy was a very special person. She gave me my first haircut, when I was about fourteen. My hair was to my waist. But when Kathy got through cutting my hair it was above my shoulders.
Kathy and Jerry both wil be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.

Toby,Kelly,Susan & Family,
Kathy was my friend and hairdresser for many years at her Plant Ave. shop. I came to know what a fine man Jerry was through our talks together.
I was sad when she sold the shop, but rejoiced because she said now she was working for a carpenter (Jesus).
When I would see her in the stores in Waycross, we would catch up on the latest happenings and I would always get a hug.
Her life was an example that we all could follow.
I plan to see Kathy & Jerry again one day. That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15
Always know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love in Christ,
Carolyn Harris

To Toby and the families of Kathy and Jerry, we offer deep sympathy for your great loss. I was Kathy's customer for many years, and met Jerry on many occasions in the shop. May you be comforted by the memories of two lives well-lived.

Toby,
You may not remember me, but I used to see you all of the time at Style's by kathy on Plant Ave. Your mother did my hair for quite a while. Then Janice Summerall and then later Sandra Taylor. I do not have to tell you what a wonderful person and mother that Kathy was. She will always have a place in my heart. I pray, that in the days to come, you too, will find comfort in relying on God to hold you up during this time of grief. I am sure you will remember my brothers Jerry, Steve, and Tiny Booth. (I worked at Winn Dixie on Plant Ave.) If there is anything that I can do for you, please call 912-285-4193. I am unable to get to the services today, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

To Jerry and Kathy's families, may your memories substain you in the coming times. Kathy did our hair for years - since 1988 - and never once heard her say anything but good about Jerry and her love of him, her family, and her Lord. Now both of them are in their Mansion of many rooms where they will be keeping an eye on those of us left here on earth.

Jerry and Kathy are a match made for heaven. The world has less light today and heaven is brighter because of these two wonderful people.

God will bless your family

To the Families of Kathy & Jerry Rowell:

I have known Kathy for approximately 40 years, although I have not seen her in quite a good many years.I was greatly saddened to learn of her death. My sister, Onecia Johnson Lanier Selph worked with Kathy at her shop in the Flanders Shopping Center in Waycross, Georgia for a good many years. I am from Waycross, Georgia and married Russell Phillip Johns from Brantley County in 1962. In 1967, our family moved to North Carolina where Russell worked with the railroad until retirement in 1992. As long as the train ran between North Carolina and Waycross, GA, I traveled frequently there and would see Kathy at the beauty shop on each trip. She was such a beautiful woman both on the inside and out and she was great fun to be around. I remember once, she cut my hair but she did not let me see in the mirror until after she was through with the cut. When she turned me around, I barely had any hair left, it was so short. After my initial shock, Kathy and I laughed about that hair cut for a long time. She did much better after that until my sister obtained her license and took over the job.

I did not personally know Kathy's husband, Jerry, but my husband did and I know they had to be a wonderful couple. (My husband, Russell, passed away on March 28, 2007 from cancer.) I know your family's sorrow is made greater by the loss of both Kathy and Jerry at the same time. I know your sorrow will remain a long time, but the lifetime of beautiful memories you had with them will bring joy to your hearts in the difficult days ahead. By all the testimony I have heard regarding both Kathy and Jerry they are rejoicing together in Heaven right now. Continue to trust in the Lord and He will help you bear this burden of grief. Your families will be in my prayers.

Toby, Kelly, Susan and family;
I want you to know how deeply sorry I am over the loss of your parents. Miss Kathy just cut my hair on the 22nd of September. Mr. Jerry came and talked with us for a long time that day. They both loved you kids so much. I havent had the pleasure of meeting you yet, but I know so much about you. Miss Kathy was one of my best friends. She knew my heart inside and out. Her and Mr. Jerry will never know what they meant to me.
Toby: A special note for you: Your mom loved you more than anything in this world. When she would talk about you, her face would just light up. You were everything to her. Again, I am so sorry.

I had the wonderful opportunity of being friends with Bro. Jerry and Mrs. Kathy. Jerry and I worked together hanging the sheetrock in the Solid Rock Baptist Church of Hundred, West Virginia a memory that I will forever cherish. They were a couple that loved their Lord, loved thier church, loved their christian brothers and sisters, and had a passion for the lost. They were truly wonderful people. Family and friends you are in our prayers.

Dear Family,
I will miss Kathy and Jerry so much. Kathy has been my friend and hairdresser for over 20 years. I love visiting her and Jerry at their home since she opened her shop there. She was the best friend when I went through cancer 5 years ago. From Lorene and her taking me to pick out a wig, sending me a special surprise to the doctor's office at each chemo treatment, all the encouraging cards, phone calls, and prayers. I am so blessed to have known these 2 wonderful people. I will truly miss them and will never forget the wonderful times we shared. May God bless all of you and know that they touched so many lives here on this earth and now will be in heaven also!
