I never had an opportunity to meet John, but he changed my life forever with his wonderful CFN articles explaining Modernism and the devastating effect it has had on the Church and the world. No one else has said it quite so well. I hope those articles will one day be collected in book form and made available to a wider readership.

Not many have done what John did in defense of the Faith, in the zeal to teach others, in tirelessness that ignored age and even sickness. He will be missed, and prayed for. God grant you strength to live without him.

Susan and children, What we can take comfort in knowing is that John is not gone but lives forever. We can rest assured that we will meet up again with our loved ones and can feel real joy in the knowledge and conviction that the heaven haven is his reward. How lovely a thought to know that precious loved ones can see us though we can't see them. In this difficult time, daily rosaries are being said for all in your family. God Bless You Mrs. Vennari.

I have known John since the early 1980s, having become a Traditional Catholic by conversion in 1978.
REQUIEM aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen. May it always be said of John: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." (2 Tim. 4:7)

Dearest Susan and Elizabeth, Philomena and Benedict, It is difficult to hold back the tears when thinking about John's last months struggling against cancer. But then John was always a fighter ever since his monastery days and over the many years he served as the editor of Catholic Family News. I still have difficulty in knowing that I will no longer be able to pick up the phone and hear his wonderful laugh. I shall remember John, my brother in Christ, in my prayers all the days of my life. Love and condolences to all the family. Until we meet again John, I remain, your loyal and faithful friend, Randy

We are very sorry for the loss of dear John. He has been someone we have known since his time at Most Holy Family Monastery in south Jersey. My husband family has known John for a very long time. We will always remember him and pray for him. My daughter has been listening to some of John's CDs and she is very grateful for them. God Bless you all and know that we are grateful to have had John on the side of Traditional Catholics. He will be greatly missed.
