Aaron Nemelka Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 6, 2009.
Nemelka, 19, of the Salt Lake City suburb of West Jordan, Utah, chose to join the Army instead of going on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his uncle Christopher Nemelka said.

"As a person, Aaron was as soft and kind and as gentle as they come, a sweetheart," his uncle said. "What I loved about the kid was his independence of thought."

Aaron Nemelka, the youngest of four children, was scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan in January, his family said in a statement. Nemelka had enlisted in the Army in October 2008, Utah National Guard Lt. Col. Lisa Olsen said.

I pray that he may grant you through the abundance of his glory to be made mighty in the man you are inside, with power through his spirit… (Ephesians 3:16) In this time of a loss of someone special in your lives be comforted to know God cares and will help you to endure.

Aaron was the most generous, caring and loving person that I have ever met. We made so many memories together.. I wish that I would have talked to him more after we had ended our relationship. We made so many memories and I felt like I could talk to him about anything and everything. We would talk for hours on end and just laugh. I always remember sitting around and playing guitar hero, late nights with Derek and Jennika and staying over night at a bowling alley. Bowling was his favorite and I used to love watching him bowl. He was so happy and way too good at it. haha. I think about Aaron almsot every day. Even though him and I didn't talk for a year, I still was always wondering what he was up to. Just a couple of days before everything happened I was looking at his myspace and reminising about things and I was going to send him a message asking how things were but I never got around to doing it. Aaron I will never forget you, and the impact that you had on my life. You're missed dearly but won't ever be forgotten.

Aaron thomas nemelka was my best friend , and more importantly like a brother to me. Back in high school we hung out everyday. I pretty much lived at his house. The nemelka family are the most caring people in the world it was like they were my own parents. I honestly think when they would go shopping they had a seperate list for us. So Many memories with Aaron that will be treasured the rest of my life. I miss you man and think about you every day! Love ya bro

I am so sorry about Aaron, he was always so fun to talk to! I am an old friend of Ashlee's and Aaron. It broke my heart when I heard about this tragedy, and I just broke down into tears. My younger brother was there at the funeral. It is such a sad thing, my brother is in the National Guard and attended school with Aaron. My heart goes out to you and your family! I miss him so much. I am truly sorry for your loss. No one should ever have to go through what you have.

Dear Dora Mae & family,
I was so sorry to hear of the tragedy you have experienced. My heart breaks to think of what you must be feeling. Everyone was so happy at the reunion, but we just don't know what the future brings. But what a blessing to know that in all our futures, we have the opportunity to be together forever. Our prayers are with you.

To the Family of Aaron Nemelka:

I send my deepest condolences for your loss. Please know that the Bible gives us great comfort and hope in these trying times. The Bible makes this promise: "Your dead loved ones will live...They will rise up." And the Bible also says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."-Isaiah 26:19; Psalm 37:29.

To the family and friends of PFC Aaron Thomas Nemelka, please know a nation mourns with you in the loss of your loved one. When our newly adult children make the decision to fight for our continued freedom and the freedom of other lands, it shows courage and determination that many do not understand. We are deeply grateful for his service to our country.

To Aaron's family and loved ones - My heart aches for you, and I know something of your loss. Having lost two children and my husband, I just want you to know that others can understand and have experienced the tremendous grief you are feeling. Your handsome, brave son is a hero of the greatest magnitude. The Bible in John 15:13 states, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." I don't have answers, but I pray you will be comforted. True Americans will always remember Aaron's great sacrifice. Bless you until you are reunited for eternity.

As i flew to Fort Jackson, South Carolina last wednesday (Veterans day) to watch my only child my daughter graduate from Basic Training, i took in to consideration the horrible and endless pain that your family and friends are feeling. I thought of Aaron the whole time i was there, he has touched so many of our lives, i am so thankful for what he has accomplished and so thankful that he was so true in what he believed. Dear Family of Aaron Thomas Nemelka,
I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your young son. My son-in-law has served in Desert Storm, and has had numerous mission in the Mid East. We are a military family with over fifty family members in the military over the past years. One of our sons served at Ft. Hood as many of our other friends and relatives have served. We have a daughter who works with Family Support for the Navy in the Norfolk area. We are proud of the courage and the service that all memebers of the military give to our nation. It is heartbreaking when one individual can do so much damage in our country when that individual is supposed to be a part of the protection of our country not our enemy. We just want you to know that our heart goes out to you and your family.
Just remember "Families are Forever"

As a Military Mom myself, I cannot fathom what you are going thru. It is every Military Parents worst nightmare. The ironic part, is my sons name is Aaron Thomas also, he is 20 years old and serving in the US Navy. When I was reading the articles about the fallen Hero's of Ft. Hood.....chills ran through me when I read his name. I grieve for your family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Rest in Peace Aaron Thomas

November 14, 2009

To The Family Of PFC. AARON THOMAS NEMELKA:

The members and Staff at Behold The Lamb Ministries would like to take this moment to send our prayers to you and ask that The Great God of this Universe will carry you through this storm. We were saddened to learn of the incidents that occurred at Fort Hood.

We want you to know that "since Jesus came to dwell with us, we know that God is acquainted with our trials, and sympathizes with our griefs. Every son and daughter of Adam may understand that our Creator is the friend of sinners. For in every doctrine of grace, every promise of joy, every deed of love, every divine attraction presented in the Saviour's life on earth, we see "God with us." "[DOA, by EGW] We know that sorrow and pain and are all in the "present tense". We pray that the person responsible will ask for forgiveness we pray that we as humans will forgive the person responsible. "The work of redemption will be complete. In the place where sin abounded, God's grace much more abounds. The earth itself, the very field that Satan claims as his, is to be not only ransomed but exalted. Our little world, under the curse of sin the one dark blot in His glorious creation, will be honored above all other worlds in the universe of God. Here, where the Son of God tabernacled in humanity; where the King of glory lived and suffered and died,--here, when He shall make all things new, the tabernacle of God shall be with men, "and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God." And through endless ages as the redeemed walk in the light of the Lord, they will praise Him for His unspeakable Gift,---"[DOA,by EGW]

As we approach the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas we know that your pain may be greater due to your Loved One's absence. We will be praying with and crying in our hearts. We welcome any prayer request that you may have not only today but in the coming weeks, months and years. We will listen, we will cry with you and we will present all petition before the throne of Christ.

WE LOVE YOU IN CHRIST.

To the Nemelka Family,
All of my life your family has touched mine and it has touched mine again in the tragedy of your sons death. I knew your family from my childhood. your Grandfather Joe knew my father and grandfather very well. I was in their home as a youth with John. Our visiting teacher and home teacher in California was your Aunt and Uncle Virginia and Doug Watts. So you see you have touched my heart and my tears of gratitude and love for your family makes my heart ache for you. I am proud of your son as I know you are. My two sons served in the US Navy and the youngest just retired so you should know I loved what your son stood for. Remember the St Crispians speach of Henry the 5th. He was and is a band of brother to those who served and will serve our great Nation.

May you rest in peace Aaron and may your family find peace in knowing you are among our brave, who unselfishly put the lives of those you leave behind you before your own. I now live in San Diego, definitely a city known for it's military citizens. I knew many of the Nemelkas in Utah. This is why your name caught my eye. I graduated West High School, (1961), where we all knew and loved the Nemelka family of 12 boys and 1 girl. I took it very personally, when I heard of your untimely death that day. My heart is sad that this had to happen to such a young man. I cried for you as if you were one of my own family. Thank you for your bravery and thank you to your family. Without men like yourself, America would not be the awesome, free, Christian country, it is today. Thank you to the Nemelka family for raising such a young man. I knew your grandma Beth when we were young as well as Dick and Mark Nemelka. God Bless your family at this time of sorrow.

To the family and friends of Aaron,
How comforting it must be to know that he is truelly in a better place, wrapped in the loving arms of a merciful Heavenly Father, and to know that you too will be in that same position some day, and you will be reunited with your dearly-loved Aaron.

To the Nemelka family,
I did not know Aaron but I am a military brat whose family has many generations of service. I honor your Aaron's committment to his family, community and country. In my heart I am sure that he is still serving by watching over all of us and especially his fellow soldiers as they head overseas. Please accept my sympathies for your loss. Your son is a hero to many of us.

When we give up our life, to defend another we surely will have favor with God. What a good young man and how wonderful the promise that he will rise one day again and be with you for always. I am sure you are all so proud of him. His example will live on, until you are re-united with him again, this time never to have to say goodbye.

I went to your sons Memorial this afternoon here at Ft. Hood. My heart breaks to think of your pain. My mother lost my older sister and she said her belief in the Lord and her faith in the Covenant was her saving grace. I hope you remember in this sombering time that he was Lords son first and he was just called home. He is to serve a mission in heaven. You will be blessed for being his earthly mother and rewarded to be with him all eternity. We are promised that families will be together forever. You did a great job raising him while on his journey here. He was a great man! Remember that, remember him, we will!!
