ELAWAR, Imad Hassib "Eddie", 29, of Richmond, died Saturday, March 19, 2011. He is survived by his parents, Hassib and Assma Elawar; sisters, Najat, Majida and Sammer; brothers, Wajdi and Walid; numerous aunts, uncles and other family members. Eddie was an electricial engineer employed by Erickson. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. where his funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011. The burial will take place in Beirut, Lebanon at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Druz Society, 750 Courthouse Rd., Richmond, Va. 23236. Condolences may be offered at woodyfuneralhome.com.

I still remember that night when you passed before you travelled to the US and you were in a hurry to reach the airport on time.

I sent you an email after I heard the news, just to get an Out of the Office reply promising you'd be back.
I used google to place myself on Powhike Parkway just before Reams Road to see it clear of all harm.
I wanted to believe all this was just a nightmare and that on Monday morning we'd all wake up from it.
The taste of reality was so bitter Imad. May God find you a place right next to him my friend.

Words can not explain how awful this tragedy is and how painful it is to lose a friend this soon. Eddie was a kind, intelligent, and funny person. He always made you smile.
