Dear Veronica and Erica,
I am so grateful to have known your mother. As one of her students when she first took over the apprentice program at PA Ballet, Lupe had a powerful impact on me personally and professionally. Personally, I remember the trust she gave me handing over her car keys to pick you up at home and bring you to ballet class. We also shared a couple Thanksgiving dinners at your house. Professionally, she had an enormous influence on my career, not only in terms of her immense technical knowledge, but her down-to-earth and giving nature. As a teacher and ballet master I continually share her lessons and stories with students and professionals. My admiration and gratitude for knowing her will always be boundless.

To have become a prima ballerina with the American Ballet Theatre was an amazing accomplishment, she was an inspiration to so many, especially as a Latina. She truly beautiful to watch. Sincerest condolences to the Serrano may God give strength and strength to you all, so very sorry for your loss.

Lupe was an incredibly kind person. I was one of the accompanists at the Washington ballet and she always had a kind word to say. She was in incredible teacher and human being.
