Myrtle Stewart Myrtle Parrott Stewart, 88, resident of 213 Forest Drive West, widow of Lee Stewart, passed away September 8, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born March 18, 1926, in Six Mile, she was a daughter of the late Barney and Addie Baker Parrott. She graduated from Six Mile High School and Anderson College and began her career at Woodlawn Elementary School. Her greatest joy was teaching kindergarten with Mrs. Frazier, Argyle Leary and Dot Parks. Her love of gardening and flowers brought her to Park Seed Company, where she retired. She was a loyal member of South Main Street Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was the department pianist. Myrtle enjoyed serving in the Pilot Club and volunteering at Self Regional Medical Center for many years. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Steve Stewart of Lake Lure, NC, and Barry Stewart of Anderson; and two grandsons, Steve B. Stewart of Taylors and Brian Stewart of Anderson. Mrs. Stewart was the last member of her immediate family and was predeceased by two sisters, Lila Kelly and Lib Childers; and four brothers, Polly, Wink, Roy and Frank Parrott. Myrtle loved her nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends dearly. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at South Main Street Baptist Church, with Rev. Andy Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bill Ambrose, Rutty Ambrose, Mike Parrott, Brian Stewart, Steve Stewart and Gene Watson. The family is at the home in Timberlake and will receive friends in the Connecting Place of the church from 1 to 2:30 Friday afternoon. The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 12:30 Friday. Memorials may be made to South Main Street Baptist Church, PO Box 1093, Greenwood, SC 29648.
