Mr Silas .... I didn´t know much about you until your daughter and I began to work together at Discovery Network. She made me feel so welcome in my work family environment and I felt as if I knew you and your family forever. Paula and I were belly buddies ... expecting our first grands in both our families. I wish I could have spent more time with her and getting to know her family. I can say she loved you very much as I do my family. I have sent many prayers to comfort them in the days ahead. Love Paula, Paula

Mr Silas! Wow! This was a shocker! I just worked with you on last Friday at Rehab. Helped you get in the shower and made sure you smelled good and looked good for the day(smelling like my soap from Victoria Secret) lol Then, I sat with you, why you ate your breakfast and you kept cutting up with me and laughing while you touch my face. We had a such good morning. You were so happy and cheerful. It was a pleasure to work with you and your personal Healthcare worker. God saw you struggling with some things and he came and took you with him so you could live your BEST LIFE with him. I will NEVER forget you. Until we meet again, in that upper room, you just take your rest and watch over us all with that beautiful smile. May God give your family the strength to get through this sad time. Bless you all!!!!

My condolences to the Silas family. I lived a couple of doors down from him my sophomore year at Creighton. I always admired him as a player and the life he lived He was a person of character and a great role model. The game was better because of him. Requiescat in pacem.

An amazing coach who contributed to the sport, coaching one if the greatest LeBron James. Deepest condolences to the Silas family, so very sorry for your loss, God be with you all.

I'll admit that I'm not that familiar with Paul's coaching career, which by all accounts was also excellent, but I often saw him perform during his playing career. He truly was a standout, in the key "workman-like" aspects of the game.

Paul did battle on the defensive end, and "in the paint" on both ends of the court, with some of the greatest/strongest forwards and centers who have ever played in the NBA. And Paul was brilliant in those roles, plus he was a model professional and team leader. Paul was the perfect example, that one doesn't need to have a high points-per-game average to be a superstar. And to be Hall of Fame worthy.
