Marian Ragsdale Obituary
She married her high school sweetheart from Trafalgar, Ind., and celebrated over 50 years of marriage together.
Marian was an accomplished artist. Her artwork touched the lives of many individuals around the country.
She followed the legacy of her father and received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University. Marian was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Surviving are her children, Mardell (Louis) Grant of Kalamazoo and Douglass (Linda) Ragsdale of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Grant, James Grant and Lindsey Ragsdale; brother, William Douglass of Texas; sister, Dell Ely of Idaho; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Ragsdale.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at Heather Hills Retirement Village, 1055 Forest Hill SE, Grand Rapids. The Rev. Mike Baynay of John Knox Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Michigan College Art Department.
