He was born in Mills County, Iowa. Bob worked security at the Federal Reserve Bank in Omaha, Neb., and at the Omaha Stockyards. He was a longtime employee of the Mills County Secondary Roads Department, and Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Bob was a part time deputy with the Mills County Sheriff's Department and Glenwood Police Department.
Bob is survived in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Williams, of Bethany Lutheran Home, in Council Bluffs; sons, Terry Williams and wife, Anne Fuhrman, of Gretna, Neb., Rick and wife, Sue Williams, of Carter Lake, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Powers and Mary Ann Williams, of California.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home. Officiating Pastor Darrell Hopp and Chaplain Noel Kropp. Interment Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, Iowa, following funeral services.Memorials may be offered to Glenwood Fire and Rescue, First Christian Church in Glenwood, and Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs.
