Parod, Dr. John D. Age 77, born April 24, 1935 in Rockford, IL, died peacefully on March 19, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from East High Rockford, IL, Cornell College, Mount Vernon, IA., and Univ. of IL Medical School. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Intrepid aircraft carrier as a Flight Surgeon and participated in recovering astronauts after space flights and chasing Soviet submarines during his deployments. He spent his residency at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis and worked at Camden Emerson Clinic and primarily North Clinic as a Family Practice physician. His true passions were his family, caring for his patients, running his award winning Vizsla hunting dogs, hunting pheasants, fishing, horse racing, enjoying nature at his home on Schmidt Lake , and spending time on Chesapeake Bay in Virginia,. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evar and Ethel; his brother, Durwood, his beloved son David; his Vizslas, Little Nellie Sunshine, Lakeside Sunny Girl, and Tizzie Whizbang. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his sister, Joan (Gerry Kremer); daughter, Amy Parod; son, John (Kris); grandchildren, the Triplets! - Kellyn, Jamie, Tommy. I remember seeing you at the original Camden clinic, then at Camden Emerson, then at oak-dale clinic, then finally at holly dale golf course. You were a true professional at all times and I wanted to say thanks for all you've done for me and my family.

I was sad to hear of John's passing,he was a regular customer at the movie theatre in plymouth and was always a pleasure to talk to,all around great guy,we will miss you John,RIP!!
