Delores BYERS Obituary
74, of Palm Harbor, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was born in Marianna, FL and came here in 1962 from Panama City, FL. She was a secretary at Pinellas County School System and was a member of Calvary East Lake Church in Tarpon Springs. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James W. Byers; 1 son, James W. Byers Jr. of New Port Richey; 1 daughter, Suzanne D. Brauckmann of Largo; 1 sister, Janice B. Hamm of Panama City; and 1 grandson, Tristan Joseph Byers-Brauckmann. She was predeceased by her son, Craig Alan Byers and her parents, John T. and Dorothy Branning. Visitation 11 am to service time at 12 noon Saturday, June 13, at Calvary East Lake Church 1190 East Lake Rd. Tarpon Springs, with Kennon Wiley officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo. The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society 4801 86th Ave. N. Pinellas Park, FL 33782. Online guest book at:

My Friend, "GATOR", Delores, was always a light in my life...when I lived in
Largo, Worked for Michaels , we became friends. Her lemon bars and pickels were a welcome gift to me, on several occasions. I had lunch with her about 3 years ago, on a trip back to Clearwater, after 20 years absence. She was a true Southern Belle, and she never minded me calling her GATOR, after her team !..Fond Memories, Judi.

Dear Suzanne and Jim,
I"m so sorry about the loss of your mom. Delores was such a friendly, warm person. I always enjoyed our talks at Seminole High.
Hopefully she has reunited with Craig. We lost him way too young.

Blessings and prayers to the family. Delores had a warm, welcoming way about her, and she never met a stranger. We were just chatting away the other day. We don't know the plans of God and what He has in store for us. We just believe in His Word. Rest in the faith that she now resides with Him.
