Triandafili Chryssomallis Obituary

Published by Star Tribune on May 28, 2006.
Chryssomallis, Triandafili (Felitsa) a beautiful woman with a heart of gold, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 20, 2006, at her home in Kalamata, Greece, age 76. She will be sorrowfully missed and lovingly remembered by her family, devoted husband of 54 years, Sotiri; son, Yorgo (Linda); grandsons, Alexi and Michael; son, Yanni; daughter, Anda (Richard); brother, Spiro; sister, Pipitsa; many relatives and a multitude of friends. Felitsa was full of passion for life, touching everyone with her beaming, loving spirit, friendly smile, contagious laugh, gracious hospitality and indescribably delicious cooking. She was the heart of the family, bringing everyone together; an unselfish, supportive mother; caring grandmother; best mother-in-law; and fun-loving friend. She drew strength from her Christian faith. Diagnosed with Parkinsonian Syndrome, she was robbed of mobility but not her spirit. She had undying love and concern for everyone to her last day with us. Funeral service and interment was May 22nd in Kalamata. Memorials to charity of choice or to Kalamata General Hospital Dialysis Center c/o CPRA, Inc. PO Box 107, 8983 Okeechobee Blvd. #202, West Palm Beach, FL 33411.

God rest your soul, Felista...your spirit will endure forever, in particular, through the person of your son, Yanni, who's work in the music world, has touched the core of countless people from all nations and walks of life. I have not met this woman, but I have seen her on youtube video clips and i can see the wonderful soul she had...and i'm sure her kids, her husband and all those who knew her, would agree with me! And, through this forum I'd like to say to her son, Yanni: Let the word go forth from this time and place, that your music genius has inspired the human soul to endure because it has a spirit capable of creativity and compassion. May the living & loving GOD bless her beautiful soul as she rejoices in heaven.

I have not had the pleasure of meeting her but Felitsa lives on in her children and family and also through the song her son Yanni wrote for her. God bless her for her love of life and for her love of her family.

I have been listening to the piece yanni since high school and still listen to all his songs today. The song Yanni created for his mother and additional pieces have meaning, has alot of her spirit that is embraced in his songs, carries memories and his feelings lets me appreciate the gifts of his music and meaning behind his music and the feelings of family bonds.

When I see videos of Yanni performances sharing the beautiful piece he created for you, Felitsa, I immediately begin to cry. I can see and feel the love from mother to son, and son to mother. Your song was playing in my home frequently as I grew up, both on a recording and when my sister and I practiced the piano. You left a legacy of love, talent, kindness, and compassion. Thank you.

As you Rest In Peace, dear Felitsa, your beautiful legacy lives on in your children. Yanni brings peace to the world through his transcendent music which brings God and man together in peace. He brings you to every concert, in his heart, to watch over all of us. Thank you for the Gift.

Dear Yanni, Krystalan and family,
We were all blessed with Felitsas time on this earth. How lucky we all were to have her for the short time she was with us! I think of her almost daily when I listen to Yanniss beautiful song. She is alive in my heart and mind and in in the hearts and minds of millions of Yannis fans. She has gained a worldwide rebirth through an adoring son. My love and deep condolences to you all.

Dear Sotiri, Yorgos, Anda, Yanni, Pipitsa, Yanni, Spiro, Linda, Richard, Alexi, Michael and the multitude of people who knew and loved Felitsa - There aren't enough beautiful words in any language to describe such an immense, loving soul as Felitsa. I have never in my life known a more giving, caring, happy and loving woman. Always welcoming and always laughing that sweet and infectious laugh. I am so sad that she is gone from us in the physical world but her undying love will remain with us and her grandchildren forever.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and shining light.
