John Webster Obituary

John M. Webster, 66, died on March 21, 2016 in Plattsburgh, N.Y. where he had lived for over 40 years. A graduate of Corcoran High School and Syracuse University, he retired in 2004 from the I.R.S. after 30 years of service. John was a lifelong fan of S.U. sports, The New York Football Giants and his Yankees. After his retirement, he took yearly trips to Arizona, stopping at National Parks, State Parks and any local historic site he found along the way. The photos from those trips are a lasting legacy.
John was predeceased by his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Murphy) Webster. Survived by his father, Marshall Webster of Syracuse; brothers, Tom (Theresa Mannes) Webster of Syracuse, Jim (Virginia) Webster of Camillus, Bill (Marsha Thompson) Webster of Phoenix, AZ; Dan (Linda Hall) Webster of Jamesville; his sister, Martha (Robert) Lawson of Syracuse and Campton, N.H.; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and the cousins.
Calling hours will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse with a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m.
