Condolences to the family of Paul Beasley. Being home in a spiritual mood, gospel music is what I wanted to hear. Paul came to mind with Walk around Heaven. At this very moment I am watching Willie Neal and the Gospel Keynotes videos on You Tube and decided I would re-read about this gospel legend history. Mr. Paul Beasley name appeared in one of the articles and I went to that article. I was saddened to read that he had also transitioned to glory. Wow, he could really reach those falsetto notes! I loved his singing as well as the Keynotes. They truly left their mark in gospel history.

I meet them when they came to perform in Kankakee ILL, Vickie Clark use to bring all the gospel groups The MIGHTY CLOUDS OF Joy and Clarence Fountain and Slim and The Supreme Angels I missed them all RIH my friends until we meet again.

I met Paul at a gospel concert in Conway' S.C. in the mid-90's, while working at a local radio station. I did not expect such humility to come from one of his caliber. I really enjoyed our brief conversation and the fact that he would not mind taking time to converse with me. His voice was surpassed only by his personality. I also recently found out that he had already transitioned. I am a stone fan of the Old Skool Gospel, my four favorite being in no particular order: Keynotes, Mighty Clouds, Supreme Angels and the Singing Stars.

Mr. Paul Beasley was (& still is) a major musical influence in my Family as it pertains to Gospel Quartet music. As a child, and even now, I would imitate his high-pitched sound and would hold that note for as long as I could!
I grew up on the “Quartet” sound, but no one caught my ear like Mr. Paul Beasley’s high-falsetto! Sir, continue to rest on and enjoy the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We thank God for the time He allowed you to be here on earth as a “gift” to us all!

The first time I heard of The Gospel Keynotes was in 1975 Just before I went into the Military. I have albums of them since Traveling On, I Made a Vow, and so on. Paul was the epitome of greatness singing in that beautiful falsetto voice. He will be truly missed. God rest your soul. Sincerely, One of your many fans. Paul Beasley was a giant in the Gospel Quartet arena. I followed him from the Gospel Keynotes to the Mighty Clouds of Joy and a few days ago pulled up a recording with him singing with the Blind Boys of Alabama. Then I goggled to find out when he started singing with the Blind Boys and of course found that he passed in 2017. RIP brother Paul, I tried to imitate you singing"Walk Around Heaven", but could never quite get the high notes as so many of us have tried.

Wow, I'm so sad.. this was two years ago..I had been listening to the old songs of the keynotes with WNJ and Paul and Robert.. when they did Walk around Heaven..I first saw Paul in Augusta when I was 14 in the 80s ..man he held that note..Paul you will be missed but never forgotten.. Everywhere I go and bring up gospel legends , Paul Beasley name is in the mix..
