I will always be grateful for the fun conversations with Robert, his wit, his great counsel and advice. I'm fortunate to have known him, especially during in my youth.

My father Manuel Sr. and Robert were great friends in Mendota, where they grew up together, and later in Huron, where Don Cuco, Robert's dad, sent him and beckoned by father, a carpenter by trade, to build a gas station and cantina for the family. Robert had a great sense of humor--he always addressed my father as "la vaca"--and was a first-class prankster. He was also the handsomest man in Huron, and maybe the entire Westside. We will all miss him. Our condolences to the entire Riofrio family.

Uncle Robert you along with my grandfather Joe and great grandfather Refugio are the great men who have inspired me to journey out to a brighter future for my future children who will live on to carry our family name.

My fondest memories of Robert (my uncle my mothers brother) was going to Huron on my motorcycle on a impulse and spending the day with him at the gas station for no reason than to just hang with Uncle. Deepest condolences. Ruben Rios and Family

Uncle Roberts life was like a movie. Born in Los Angeles, to Mexican immigrants Don Refugio and Ygnacia Riofrio (Michoacán and Zacatecas Mexico) Seguro que si! Then to the Central Valley, Mendota, Huron, Coalinga, Fresno, not nessessarily in that order. To serve in the Marines in the most prestigious of all capacities, WWII. Back home, to marry and have a beautiful family and to own and operate the Robert B. Riofrio station, and to hunt and fish and smile and to share with all of us who were fortunate to listen to his words, such good strong consejos. Yes like a movie of a true American. Rest In Peace Uncle Robert

I am very proud to have been the daughter-in law of this wonderful man. He was kind to me from the time I first met him and Velma when I was only 13 years old. He was a war hero having proudly served with the 5th Marine Division on Iwo Jima at Mount Sirabachi. Our family will miss him very much but are happy in knowing he is reunited with his wife Velma and other family members in heaven. RIP Robert.
