Rick was a good, good man. I will never forget him. Reached out to me when I was in my lowest place with compassion, understanding, and reassurance. May he rest in peace. Sincere condolences to Dave and the rest of the family.

“Ricky” Magee was one of my closest friends at Richard Montgomery High School many years ago. Back then, Ricky was “the man”... captain of the football team, fantastic baseball player, VP of our class, and dated the most beautiful girl in our class, Donna, who later became his wife and mother to his boys.
Ricky had a few tough spots in his life but persevered through it all and became “the dog whisperer,” which brought him meaning and joy.
Ricky and I shared many great times both during high school and years after. But, as happens many times in life, we lost contact as we pursued our careers. In one of the blessings of my life, Ricky and I reconnected in the last year of his life. We laughed and cried as we relived many of our memories from many years ago, and caught up on all the intervening years.
I spoke with Ricky just a few weeks before his death, and typical of him, he barely mentioned his daunting medical issues.
I really miss my good friend and wish his family my deepest condolences. I am honored that Rick’s son Dave has stayed in touch and remembers me as his dad’s good friend.
Take care and Rest In Peace my friend.

Rick, its impossible to say how much you were loved and will be missed. Mac and Mimi will never have the care you gave them. Thank you and know how much they loved you too.

Rick is someone who changed my life for the better and I'll never forget him. I took my dog Mac to Rick's Dog Care every work day for close to eight years. Rick radiated peace and calm to the dogs (and people) in his care, which explains the pictures he could take of fifteen to eighteen dogs seated for their "morning meeting" in the kitchen. The two things he said to me most often were, "We're here for you" and "I'm not too worried about it." I looked forward to seeing and talking to him, and getting funny pictures and videos of the dogs (like the dog who would howl at Len the Plumber commercials). His passing is a huge loss for his family, the dogs in his pack, and everyone who was lucky enough to be his friend. Our lives will never be the same.

Rick was a beloved friend of mine. I am so glad he was a part of both mine and Charlies (my dogs life). Rick was just as important to the humans as he was to the dogs that he cared for and he is already very missed. We were all so lucky to have known him. Sending prayers and love to your family.
