GUILFOYLE, Kathleen Passed too soon, with her siblings by her side, after a long and hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Beloved daughter of William L. and Barbara E. Guilfoyle; and survived by her sisters and brothers, Karen Guilfoyle Fawley (Reece), William J. Guilfoyle (Shari), Kevin Guilfoyle, Mary Guilfoyle Koenig (Peter); and her beloved nephews, Brett (Caroline) and Sean Fawley; and niece Kelly Koenig. Kathy was born in Palo Alto, CA, and raised in Portola Valley, CA. She was a proud graduate of UCLA where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After college, Kathy pursued a 35-year career in finance first with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco then following a move to Boston continued in finance most recently with TIAA CREF. Kathy loved travel and fashion and was blessed with a circle of close friends who stood by her throughout her illness. She was a loving sister and aunt who was loved and will be missed by her many friends and colleagues. A Celebration of Life for Kathy will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, at Venezia Waterfront restaurant, 20 Ericsson Street, Boston, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jimmy's Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute or your local hospice organization.

Kathy and I went to St. Joseph's Elementary School in Atherton, Ca. My first sleepover ever was in 5th grade at their lovely Eichler home in Portola Valley! I don't think we got any sleep that night. We also went to Woodside HS together. It was mentioned at our 50th reunion that Kathy had left us. We were saddened at this news. RIP. Sarah
