Jane S. Caddick

Jane Stella (Siwek) Caddick, 87, of Southington, passed away peacefully on October 27 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was the wife of the late Roy Caddick and the former wife of the late Stephen E. Kiltonic, as well as mother of Stephen Kiltonic (Kelly) of Westfield, MA and Jane Pierce (Jeff) of Salem, CT. Known as "Babci," she enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren: Kelsey, Lindsey and McKenzie Kiltonic and Matthew (Danielle), Erica and Rebecca Pierce. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary (Siwek) Gauvin, Helen Siwek and brothers Stanley, Joseph, John and Walter Siwek. Jane was born on May 9, 1935 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Sergiusz and Veronica (Swieton) Siwek. She was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School and New Haven State Teacher's College (S.C.S.U.) with a bachelor's degree in Education. Jane positively impacted the lives of many of her students as a kindergarten teacher for 40 years in the Southington School System. She was a member of the Southington Festival Chorale for over 30 years and a communicant of St. Aloysius and St. Thomas Churches in Southington where she sang in the choirs of both parishes and was known for her angelic, soprano vocals. Jane was a founding member of the Red Hat Society in Southington and was a volunteer at the Southington Public Library. Jane enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, arts and crafts, family vacations at Cape Cod, theater shows and classic movies, her favorite of which was the Wizard of Oz. She was also involved in various clubs, activities and trips at the Calendar House and at Mulberry Gardens Day Center. Jane's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff at St. Francis Hospital for their compassion and the excellent care they provided.
