I was a Docent at the Barnes Foundation with Jonas and just fascinated by his past, his education, his responsibility to Docent duties, his interest in Art and Art Education and willingness to share his knowledge and time. Just an interesting, charming guy who never hesitated to help or share in any way possible. A person who will always be remembered.

I got to know Dr. Jonas Brachfeld at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, where we were docent colleagues. Over the years, we became good friends. He was not only my mentor, but if I had any medical issue he took a personal interested and always made sure I engaged the best doctors and treatments. He was brilliant in every way-in his knowledge of art, his medical expertise and understanding of all aspects if the human heart. He was a big brother to me, and I respected and loved him dearly.

I was in the same docent class as Jonas at the Barnes Foundation in 2009-10. He was truly a gentleman and also had a quite wry sense of humor. A wonderful human being!

It was an honor to work with Jonas at the Barnes Foundation. I met Jonas in 2012 when the Foundation re-opened on the Parkway in Philadelphia. The Barnes was overwhelmed with visitors. 88 years old at the time, Jonas took more guests on tours of the collection than any other docent that year! I remember on his tour he would stop in gallery 5 to visit his 'homeboy' Peter Paul Rubens. Jonas was wonderful person and I am so honored to have worked with him at the Barnes Foundation.
