Miranda Henley Obituary

Miranda M. Henley
July 10, 1970 - November 11, 2022
Mount Juliet , Tennessee - Miranda M. Henley passed away unexpectedly at home on November 11, 2022 in Mount Juliet, TN at just 52 years old.
Born July 10, 1970 to James and Gloria Benedict, Miranda spent her childhood and early adult years in Gulfport, MS, where she graduated from Gulfport High School. Miranda played both French Horn and Trumpet in the band (not at the same time, obviously) and enjoyed torturing her two sisters with daily practice of said brass instruments. Gulfport is also where Miranda fine-tuned her charming, witty and sarcastic personality And lassoed the love of her life, Shane Henley.
Shane became Miranda's husband, and they made their home in Cookeville, TN. Miranda began a long and rewarding career in the banking industry and completed her bachelor's degree at Tennessee Tech University.
Miranda and Shane welcomed their smart, funny and beautiful daughter, Landry, into the world in 2010. Miranda was a hard worker and took pride in doing her best in all things, but she truly excelled at being a mom. She believed it was a privilege to be given the responsibility of being a mother and worked hard to give her daughter the best experiences in life. After Shane passed away in 2013, Miranda and her daughter moved to Mount Juliet, TN, so they could enjoy all the experiences that Mount Juliet and the Nashville area had to offer.
To say that Miranda will be missed is sorely an understatement. She was taken too soon and we're mad/sad about it. She had a lot of living left to do and we want her here with us. However, we take comfort in knowing that she enjoyed the time she had on earth and will remember her infectious cackle-laugh that would ring out many times a day as she found the humor in everyday life.
Miranda was preceded in death by her husband, Shane Henley and her mother Gloria C. Benedict as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her daughter, Landry Grace Henley; father, James Benedict; sister, Vannessa Ishee (Marci); sister, Meghan Ingram (Darrell); nephew, Declan Ingram; in-law family, Pete and Donna Turner, Ronnie and Brenda Henley, Suzanne and Tim Jones, Avery Jones, Aidan Jones and Bret Jones.
In lieu of flowers or sympathy gifts, please consider giving to the Epilepsy Foundation of Middle and West Tennessee, 2002 Richard Jones Rd, Nashville, TN 37215 (epilepsyfoundation.org).

In 2 months it will have been a whole year since this happened. I still think about chatting with miranda about the ridiculousness of some work stuff, having a shared drive to do the right thing for others, and bonding through conversations about losses we had each experienced and the importance in making the most of each day we are given. She had one a warm and kind soul and while she showed so much care for those around her, her biggest love and point of pride was her best friend and baby girl. I still have the urge to reach out to her and ask about Landry, talk about life, or random project stuff... she was a true friend who will always be in my heart.
