Dear Lea and family
My brothers Paul & Don and I are deeply saddened by Don´s passing. He certainly had an interesting life. I loved our many visits and our conversations. With his larger than life personality there was never a dull moment for sure!
My Mom and Dad always looked forward to your trips to Webster or their trips to Virginia. If anyone ever deserved a true celebration of life it DEFINITELY would be Don. Im sure he will have a lot of open arms greeting him in heaven.
I will miss him from the bottom of my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love
Joanie

I have tons of memories of lunches at the VFW with "MY" USS Forrestal guys - Hugh McCabe, Bob Kohler, Joe Costello & other Navy friends - Dan Ogletree, Stu Carson + more. The jokes, laughter & political views expressed with Nothing Held Back. Most of the time, I was the only woman at the table, unless -thank God - a wife joined in occasionally to help "shoulder" the "meeting" -- and meetings they were! You had to have a good sense of humor & a thick skin or leave the table! We did Dining Outs once a month & Thursday lunches at VFW. The people I met & fell in love with were This Group. Don enjoyed the time there so much. All of us could ask him for 100% professional guidance on real estate matters. He was always willing to help. I know everyone misses him & the backyard parties at the Belangers - laughed till we cried many times. Bless you for all the love & laughs you gave. Love: Carolyn Anderson, Public Affairs Officer, USS Forrestal Memorial Association & loving friend

Uncle Donnie´s desire to "live" his life, coupled with his positive attitude, these past few months was incredibly admirable. He has always been such a strong example and a stable constant in my life. He will be dearly missed.

I have known the Belangers my entire life; they were part of the Navy family that started in GTMO, Cuba in the 1950's. Can only remember kindness. Healing prayers for his wife and family.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Belanger. I have known the Belanger family since Steve Bell, DJ, and I were students at Bayside High School in the mid 70's. I was always treated like another family member and I was so blessed to know the family. The Belanger's opened their home to everyone and I have so many great memories of parties and gatherings at their home. Just as they invited me into their family, I feel as I have lost a close family member as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Belanger and all of the family. I was truly blessed to know him and the family, but I will always cherish the memories.
