Paige Tarter Obituary

Paige Elizabeth (Bitten) Tarter
September 21, 1967 - December 26, 2022
Spokane, Washington - Paige Elizabeth (Bitten)Tarter, 55 died December 26, 2022. She passed peacefully in bed at home in Spokane.
She is survived by daughters Michelle Tarter and Jenee Rodriguez (John), and granddaughter Aura Willow Avery Rodriguez. Also, brother Eric (Tiffany) and nephews E.J. and Noah Bitten, as well as brother and sister Jason and Janine Bitten. Paige is also survived by her parents Ernie Bitten, and Stephanie Brands. She had many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins all around the country.
Paige was born in Saratoga Springs, NY. While growing up she lived in upstate New York, Hawaii and Connecticut but spent most of her life in Washington State. Paige was an early and avid swimmer. As a preschooler, she was so proud to earn a T- shirt from the YMCA in a neighboring town that read "I am a GUPPY at the Norwich Y." In 1976, the family moved to Richland, WA. where Paige attended Hanford K-12 school and graduated from Hanford High School. Paige joined the swim team at the Richland YMCA and competed with them for years. She always loved the water. As an adult, Paige learned to scuba dive and traveled to beautiful dive sites.
The family joined the Richland Bethel Baptist Church and Paige became an enthusiastic member of the youth group. She was baptized in the Columbia River by Youth Pastor, Dave Dawson. This was a very happy time in her life.
Paige attended Whitworth College in Spokane for a year. She later finished her IT degree at Columbia Basin College in Pasco. She worked in the computer networking field at Kennewick General Hospital and PNNL.
Paige is also survived by her former husband, Scott Tarter, of Richland. Scott joined the Army, and they were stationed in Germany. When Scott was away at Desert Storm their oldest daughter, Jenee, was born in Richland. Their youngest daughter, Michelle, was born two years later.
Paige moved to Spokane in 2013 and had a community of caring friends and neighbors on South Hill. She did volunteer work helping the disabled and elderly. Patt, her apartment manager, was a good friend and was very important in her life.
Paige loved being a grandmother to Aura. When they were together, they baked cookies, danced, sang, and read books together.
She was preceded in death by her cousin, Jack Maurins, and her favorite dogs, Elway, and Bentley.
A memorial service is planned for April 22, 2023, 3pm at the Bethel Church on 600 Shockley Rd, Richland. Dave Dawson will officiate. Friends and family are invited.

I just learned of Paige´s death. She and I met in Germany in 1990 and became very close friends. After returning to the states, we stayed in touch but never saw each other in person again. I will always cherish the memories with her and Scott. To her loved ones, please accept my belated condolences.

She was liked by many and was known as a kind endearing funny person. What a shock to hear of her passing. Rest easy Paige. You made a positive difference in the world for sure .

Paige and I are second cousins. I saw her on a fairly regular basis when we were kids and young adults. Our grandma´s were sisters and lived in close proximity to each other. Those were the days of big family gatherings on the Nordahl side of the family: holidays and summer picnic get-togethers at cool locations. Paige was always fun with a beautiful smile. As we got older and settled into our lives I rarely saw her. I was thrilled to reconnect with her on Facebook. I have always enjoyed her sense of humor and her love for dogs. Rest in peace dear cousin you´ll never be forgotten.

Paige and I went to school together and swam on the same team in Richland. We recently reconnected on FB, but really didn't do a lot of "catching up". Now I'm sorry I didn't. She'll be missed.

As her daughter, Jenee´s, mother-in-law, I couldn´t have asked for a better mother-in-la to my son, John.

Passive abs I had a lot in common and it was always nice speaking with her.

She had a great sense if humor. She will be missed.
