Grand Haven, Michigan
On the evening of Feb. 23, 2023, Daniel Thomas Reid, "Danny," 48 years old, passed from this life surrounded by his loved ones after a valiant battle with cancer.
Dan was born in Grand Haven, Michigan, to Donald and Julie LeRoux on May 10, 1974. He spent his elementary years at Ferry Elementary School in Grand Haven, where he created many memories and inherited several lifelong friends. His family then moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, in 1987, where Dan once again made a lasting impression and added to his collection of friends for life.
He ultimately moved back to Spring Lake, Michigan, in 1989, where he reconnected with Lisa, his elementary-school crush, and the rest was history. Dan and Lisa were married on Dec. 2, 1995. Together, they created a beautiful life, bringing four extraordinary children into this world.
Aside from being a devoted family man, Dan was a dedicated U-M football fan and an avid golfer. He also enjoyed playing his drums and guitar, fishing, reading, and even tried his hand at some gardening throughout the years. While he was a man of many talents, he eventually found his passion in the building industry. Dan was very proud of building a beautiful home for his family in 2006.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Dan throughout the years, you'd know he always had a sense of humor. While cancer plagued his physical body, he never let it dull his sense of humor. We will always cherish the memories of laughter he leaves behind. I'll see you on the other side, hon.
Dan is survived by his wife, Lisa (Gaskin) Reid of Spring Lake; daughter, Amanda (Graham) Arnold of Scottsdale, Arizona; son, Brendan Reid and Alexia TenBrink of Spring Lake; daughter, Emma Reid of Spring Lake; mother, Julie LeRoux of Grand Haven; sister, Amy (Jim) Miller of Traverse City; sister, Michelle (John) Carpenter of Grand Rapids; brother, Travis Reid of New Era; sister, Elizabeth LeRoux of Kalamazoo; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Donald LeRoux; and son, Nicholas Reid.
