Nicholas G. Vlachos

Nicholas G. Vlachos, age 93, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away on January 13, 2023.

Nicholas was born to Peter and Margaret Vlachos on February 26, 1929, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was married to the late Dorothy L. Arundale Vlachos for 54 years when she passed away in 2002.

He worked in the textile industry at Kenyon Piece and Dye as Superintendent, Putnam Hertzl as General Manager, and Bradford Dye Works as Research Director, Superintendent as their Manager of Plant Operations.

Nicholas went on to own Elmwood Cabinet in Cranston, Rhode Island, which supplied cabinets and counter tops to local New England area businesses.

Nicholas also was a building contractor and owned Home Construction Company, which built homes in Southern Rhode Island for 14 years.

He was a member of the Free and Affirmed Masons where he was the past Master for the Masonic Lodge in Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Nicholas was an accomplished musician, recording artist, and classic tenor. He could sing in five different languages. He studied with premier classic singers in New Jersey and Rhode Island. He participated in the Peace Dale Congregational Church, singing in the choir. Nicholas often performed solos at services and different cultural events.

Nicholas is survived by his two children, Cheryl L. Vlachos Sekelsky of Westchester, NY and Denice A. Vlachos Ball of Vero Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Dawn Boiani Sandberg, James Ball, and Amanda Ball Burgess; and eight great grandchildren, Annika, Kaleigh, Jesse, Ansley, Nico, Kevin, Theodore, and Tessa. He will be deeply missed.
