I was so sorry to hear about Craig. Gone too early. I am sorry I can not attend in person but my spirit will be there. The memories that are flowing through my mind, we had so many good times. Sleeping over at your house Craig with a flashlight grabbing night crawlers and getting up at who knows what time to go fishing at the river. He always caught something. Mine always broke the line or got away but it was still fun. Lets not forget walking past the A&P with the bakery drop off just sitting in front of the store. We may have helped ourselves to a doughnut. Don't remember if we ever did or not.
In the summer of 7th to 8th grade. Craig and I worked in the Chatham Express or Madison Moving and storage in Madison office answering the phone and mailing invoices. Sometimes we got to go help packing for a job. I remember EP, Bud, James and my brother John also worked there that summer. Not to forget Bob Mangan(sp), salesman. Windows up smoking with the A/C going in his car what torture I can still smell it. Then we went to Lavallette where your family rented a house and there was a rowboat out in the bay and we told someone it was ours could they pull it in. It must have been out there for a long time and it was covered with barnacles. What a fun summer. Craig also came with my family along with Harry Borst to my family's summer home at Long Lake in the Adirondacks. Craig and Harry caught more fish than me. Harry has a secret about that summer.
You want to talk about jealousy Jeffrey delivering hot food like hamburgers in the middle school to Craig your mom had cooked. I also always wondered even to this day why ice tea and lemonade is called an Arnold Palmer when everyone knows it's a Bette Sacco. I think she was first. I can still see her making that.
All through high school we were companions along with Mike Grimm and Bob Hadley. One final memory: You guys had Santa Claus for a grandfather. I remember seeing him walking on Main St and I must have been at your house and can still picture the white hair and big white beard Your Mom's father.
Craig will be remembered fondly and missed by many.
Pete, if you could share some of this at the memorial I would appreciate it.
My heartfelt condolences,
Peter Trench 206-778-2049
