Herbert Martin Simonsen Sr.

SIMONSEN, HERBERT MARTIN, SR., passed away in Dallas on Feb. 19, 2003. He was born in New York City on Oct. 6, 1921. As a high school youth he was selected by the New York Post to the All-New York City High School football team. He served in World War II as a member of the American Airlines Transport Command serving in Europe, North Africa and South America. He worked for over thirty-five years as a flight engineer for American Airlines before retiring in 1981. He was a devoted father and friend to his five surviving children, Robert Simonsen, Paul Herbert Simonsen, Anna St. John Simonsen Dykana who is expecting the fourth grandchild, Kimberly Florence Simonsen and Herbert Martin Simonsen Jr. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael Simonsen, Joshua Simonsen and Luke R. Woolford. He will be long remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday March 2, 2003 at the Dreyfuss Club located at White Rock Lake Park with Mary Hodge officiating.
