Catherine M. (Schwartz) Wielfaert Obituary
BRITTON - Catherine M. Wielfaert, age 93, of Britton passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Cambrian Assisted Living, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 14, 1925, in Adrian, Mich., to Urban and Catherine (Marx) Schwartz and graduated from St. Joseph Academy.
On Oct. 20, 1956, she married George Wielfaert, and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Catherine was a faithful member of Light of Christ Catholic Parish in Deerfield. When her children were young she volunteered as a Campfire Girls Leader. Favorite past times included crocheting, embroidery and playing cards. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her family including her children, Paul (Laurie) Wielfaert of Britton, Mich., Mary (Tom) Thompson of Manitou Beach, Mich., Karen (John) Butson of Metamora, Ohio, Sharon (Paul) Dusney of Commerce, Mich., Allen (Linda) Wielfaert of Deerfield and JoAnn (Jeff) VandenHout of Lowell, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert, Thomas and Kenneth Schwartz, Sister Marie Urban, OP, and Margaret Scheuerman.

Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Light of Christ Catholic Parish in Deerfield with the Rev. Jack Loughran OSFS as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel in Blissfield, on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
