COLUMBUS GROVE — William L. "Bill" Brown, 72, died at 12:06 pm, on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at his home in Columbus Grove. He was born on April 30, 1948, in Portland, IN to the late William and Natalie (Miller) Brown.
On September 14, 1968, he married Wanda K. Thompson, who preceded him in death on December 13, 2005.
Bill is survived by his son, Joseph W. Brown of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Christina J. (Michael) Warren of Pandora and Amanda K. (Eric) Stechschulte of Canton; five grandchildren, Amber K. Brown, Miranda Marie Brown, Anthony Joseph Brown, Aiden Charles Brown and Birch Patrick Stechschulte; two great grandchildren, Wyatt William and Jade Khrystyne Weis and his sister, Barbara Lutz of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. (Debra) Brown.
Bill had worked for the former Clark Equipment Co., Lima, after which, he went to work at General Dynamics and then retired from Cooper Tire, Findlay. He was an Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan. He was an excellent mechanic, specializing in tow-motors and automobiles. Bill enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley and especially socializing with his friends and family.
Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Klausing will officiate with burial to follow in Allentown Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
