CELINA — Gary Rudolph Rasberry, Sr., age 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior at home surrounded by his family at 10:39 am, Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born in Glenwood, Arkansas on November 9, 1947 to the late Arvle and Iva (Vandevier) Rasberry. On April 9, 1972 he married Roxie (Endicott) Rasberry, and she survives at the residence in Celina.
Other survivors include a son, Gary Rasberry Jr., Celina; 4 sisters, Wanda Derossett, Celina, Carol Mullins, Celina, Linda Clark, Cincinnati, OH, and Connie Rasberry, Van Wert, OH; 2 brothers, Don (Lee) Rasberry, San Diego, CA, and Ron Rasberry, Bowling Green, OH; sisters-in-law, Kathy Rasberry, Celina, Linda Endicott, Celina, and Tina Staugler, Celina; brothers-in-law, James P. Endicott, Celina, Roger (Karla) Endicott, Celina, Ray (Marge) Endicott, Ft Loramie, OH, Jeff Endicott, Celina, and Dennis (Mona) Endicott, Pineville, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death an infant sister; a brother, Tony Rasberry; mother and father-in-law, James C. and Nina Endicott; and 3 brothers-in-law, Carlos Mullins, Babe Gehm, and Wally Staugler.
Gary was a 1965 graduate of Mendon Union High School in Mendon, Ohio. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 2002 after 37 plus years of service.
Gary attended Lord's Abounding Grace Church in Celina. He was a member of Celina Eagles Lodge #1291, Celina American Legion Post #210, and St. Marys VFW Post #9289.
Gary's favorite activities included, listening to music, golfing, and going to the Celina YMCA.
Funeral services to celebrate Gary's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, with Pastor Randy Christian officiating; where the family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm prior to the services at the funeral home.
To conclude the services at the funeral home, military honors will be provided by the Celina American Legion Post # 210 and Celina VFW Post # 5713.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Lord's Abounding Grace Church for the Africa and Hands Up Ministries and/or State of the Heart Hospice.
