Otha Vobornik, age 97 of Bucklin, died Saturday, April 20, 2019 at his home. Otha was born in Lingo, Missouri on March 28, 1922 to Frank and Lucy (Homolka) Vobornik. He married Nathalee Siemens on October 31, 1942 and she preceded him in death in 2001.

Otha was a Veteran of the United States Army and received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He had worked as a laborer helping to build the Bucklin School, and later at McGraw-Edison and Toastmaster. He was a member of the Green Hills of the American Legion Post #57 of Bucklin where he was the last charter member, Bucklin Christian Church and was also Bucklin's oldest living resident.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol and Kyle Lake of Marceline, Deborah and Leighton Reid of Bucklin, sister, Vera Wolfe of Macon, 5 grandchildren, Kyra Brehm and Mike, Kara Robinson and fiancé Doug Finney, Kimi Brooks and Scott, all of Marceline, Mark Reid and Sarah of Columbia, and Molly Tanner and Christian of Dearborn, great grandchildren, Maggie Hamilton and Tyler, Amelia Robinson, Sydnee Brooks, Jacee Brooks, Michael Kyle Lewis, Luke Brehm, Mariah Bennet and Kyle, Stephen, Abby, Joshua and Emma Tanner, Lake, Grace, Gregory and Anniston Reid, great-great grandchildren, Liam, Kasen, Makenna and Harper, sisters-in-law Wanda Ervie of Brookfield, Faye Leppin of Marceline and brother-in-law David Siemens of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his wife Nathalee, two sons, Franklin and Otha Ray, sisters Vesta Riley, Blanche Smith, and brother Joseph Vobornik.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Bucklin Christian Church, burial with Military Honors will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Bucklin. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, April 22, 2019 at Delaney Funeral Home in Bucklin. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #57 or Masonic Cemetery and these may be mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 41 Locust, Bucklin, MO 64631.
