About New Hampshire

New Hampshire, a New England state and one of the nation's thirteen founding states, holds the first presidential primary every four years and is known as a great spot for skiing and other winter sports. While Concord is the capital, Manchester is not only the largest city in the state, but also the largest city in New England north of Boston. New Hampshirites live by the strident motto "live free or die," and include poet Robert Frost, heavy metal legend Ronnie James Dio, comedian Sarah Silverman and astronaut Alan Shepard.
