BETTY LOU (ROBERTSON) WYMAN

1931 - 2025

Betty Lou Wyman, 93, of Stockton, California, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025.
Born on October 6, 1931, in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Elmer Lee and Audrey Bell (Rickets) Robertson, Betty was one of six children who grew up surrounded by family, hard work, and a deep appreciation for simple joys.
In 1954, Betty met the love of her life, Mitchell Royce Wyman, at Arthur Murray's School of Dance. The two were married in Reno, Nevada, on October 28 of that year and settled in Stockton, where they built their home and raised their family together.
A lifelong learner, Betty attended San Joaquin Delta College and graduated from the University of the Pacific, earning both teaching and nursing degrees. She dedicated herself to caring for others - as a nurse, a teacher, and most of all, as a mother and grandmother.
Betty's strong will and sharp wit were matched only by her warmth and generosity. She found joy in gardening, cooking, sewing, and traveling with her husband, kids and grandchildren. Her home was filled with the scent of fresh bread, beans and cornbread, and soups made from vegetables grown in her and Mitchell's garden. She also loved reading, playing cards and dominoes, listening to music, and frequenting the local library and thrift stores.
Betty is survived by her brothers Bill Robertson and Jim Robertson; her sister Carole Ann (Robertson) Long; her sons Ronald (Annalee) and David (Nina) Wyman; six grandchildren - Jaime, Robert, Matthew, Ryan, Christopher, Kacey Wyman, Amanda Clark, & Gigi Grintz - plus several great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her strength, humor, independence, and deep love for her family. Her loved ones take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, Mitchell, and finally at peace.
A celebration of life will be held in December, with details to be shared with family and friends.
