Elizabeth K. "Betty" Harper Obituary
Betty passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus with her daughter Linda present on Jan. 3, 2019. There were 10 children in the Liebig family, and Betty was the 2nd one to pass away. She was born on Dec. 24, 1928, in Hayward Ca, where she lived for 1 year, before moving to Galt until 1972. Betty lived in Carmichael (1972 - 1987), then Arcata, CA (1987 - 1994), back to Galt (1994 - 2016), and then finally settled in Lodi from 2016 until her recent passing.
She was the owner of E.K. Jewelry and Gift Shop in Galt, CA. Betty was very active in her church community, and was a Charter member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, a Luther League Sponsor and various other church activities.
Betty was very active and loved western music, dancing, Lawrence Welk T.V, gardening, canning, fishing, needle point, crafts, and traveling in her motor home club (Road Runners).
She is preceded by her parents, Fred and Bertha Liebig, spouse Norman Harper, brother Lynn Liebig, nephew Norman Liebig, sister-in-law June Liebig, brother-in-laws; Emil Miller, and Elvin Miller.
Survived by her children; Linda (Bob) Stroh Pioneer, CA, Andrew Gross Santa Rosa, CA, Ed (Anna) Gross Orland, CA, and Sandy (Krys) Gross Michigan, siblings; Pauline Miller (Lodi), Clara Miller (Galt), Frieda (Tom) Megna, (Rio Vista), Fred (Carolyn) Liebig (Galt), Bertha (Ron) Armstrong, (Rancho Cordova), Rose (Ken) Miller (Galt), Bob (Jan) Liebig (Galt), and Larry (Darrylin) Liebig (Woodbridge) grandchildren; Brian, Elizabeth, Emily, Amy, Myriah, Kai, Isabel, David, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m on Thursday, January 10th at Ben Salas Funeral Home (149 4th St. Galt, CA). A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 11th at Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church (604 E. St, Galt CA). Followed by committal at 12 p.m, at Galt Arno Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church (SVLC), memorial fund; Betty Harper.
