Rebecca "Becky" Dolstra Obituary

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Becky Dolstra, who took her last breath surrounded by the love of her family on August 22, 2025. She will be laid to rest with her parents Sally G. and Hugh P. Jones, in Colusa, California.
Becky was born in Sacramento on July 31, 1947, and married her high school sweetheart, William "Bill" Dolstra, in 1964. The couple met through their older sisters. They started their married life in Livermore, CA, where they raised their two daughters while Becky worked for the Livermore School District. Becky later helped Bill start a small electrical construction business where she managed the books and payroll. In her earlier years, Becky played co-ed soccer, golfed, jogged, loved to dance (square dancing and belly dancing) and even went scuba diving with Bill.
After moving to Lodi in 1987, Bill and Becky enjoyed wine and events hosted by local vineyards. Becky enjoyed traveling, including trips to see her grandson Nick, when he was stationed in Japan and a trip to Eastern Europe with her sister Sally. She also frequently went on trips to the CA coast and to Mexico. She valued her friendships in Lodi and those formed during trips to Mexico. She was endlessly creative, mastering a variety of hobbies including sewing, gardening, lapidary and jewelry making. An avid animal lover, she cherished her koi pond, fish tanks, chickens, and dogs – often spotted walking her dogs around Lodi Lake by friends and neighbors. As a "hip" grandma she easily connected with her grandchildren sharing their interests in contemporary topics, music, television, and hobbies.
We are blessed by our many memories, traditions, and passions that our mom/grandma passed on to our family and are thankful for the time that we had with her. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; who would state "she was a hell of a woman, talented, smart and humble", her daughters, Christie Robinson, and Jamie Babby; as well as her siblings Sally Paul and Dave B. Jones and her four grandchildren Nicholas and Jack Robinson and Sarah and Tori Babby.

I have so many memories of Becky I don´t know where to start. We walked the lake together for years, we picked up garbage with two others friends at the lake for years. We did friend´s birthday luncheons, luncheons with our Woodlake Ladies once a month. My final memory was when our small group took her for lunch on her birthday this year. She looked so beautiful and full of life we had such a great time as we always did. I will miss her her smile and her friendship but will carry her in my heart for ever. Miss you my good friend.

Becky will forever be missed as a neighbor, but most importantly, as a Friend. A voice of reason, kind, caring, faithful, are just a few words to describe Becky. As hard as this is for all of us losing her, we´re certain ("our" belief), Heaven has gained a true Angel. And Bill, all of us Neighbors at Woodlake Circle are here for you!!! (Cathy & Randy)
