THOMAS M. LEHNERTZ

1947 - 2025

Thomas M. Lehnertz, 78, of Lodi, California passed away on November 25, 2025. He was a long-time resident of Lodi and retired from PG&E after working for 36 years. Tom was born in Pensacola, Florida on February 16, 1947, to Eugene and Evelyn Lehnertz. He was the oldest of three children; sister Judy Atchly who is in Amarillo, Texas, and brother Pete Lehnertz in Palm Coast, Florida. Tom was raised in a military family where he traveled/lived all over the United States. After high school, he worked in the Gulf of Mexico on an Oil Platform where was soon drafted into the military (Army) and stationed in Germany. After the service, he married the love of his life, Ella (57 years), where they lived in Texas before moving to California. While in Texas he worked on the oil rigs, he learned to climb poles which led him to California and working for PG&E. Tom and Ella raised three boys, Micheal (Andrea), James (Michele), and Ricky (Lisa), and many grandchildren. Tom loved racing of all kinds, starting with stock cars, then motorcross with his boys to owning monster trucks (Skyscraper, Livewire, Hot Shot). Tom loved working on all things including his 1965 mustang. He helped anyone and everyone in need. He was happiest when he was with his family, cracking jokes, and telling stories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He is survived by his siblings, his wife, Ella, his sons & wives, and his grandchildren.
